Due to landslides and fallen trees caused by typhoon and heavy rain, the section of road connecting between Lung Mun Country Trail and Shing Mun Catchwater is temporarily closed for clearance from 28 September 2023 until further notice. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

To facilitate the public to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival and to ensure public safety, Transport Department announced that Tai Mo Shan Road east of its junction with Route Twisk will be closed to all vehicular traffic (except for access by local residents and emergency vehicles) and Tai Mo Shan Country Park Carpark will be suspended from 5.00 pm to 3.00 am of the following day daily on 29 and 30 September 2023. Due to landslides and fallen trees caused by typhoon and rainstorm, some trails and forest tracks within Shing Mun Country Park are temporarily closed for clearance and maintenance until further notice. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

The Ma On Shan Barbecue Area Toilet will be temporarily closed and tap water supply will also be suspended for sewage system maintenance from 22 to 23 September 2023, visitors can use the mobile toilets nearby if necessary. Sorry for any inconvenience cause.

To facilitate the public to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival and to ensure public safety, the Police Force will implement road closure along the access road of Water Services Department between Pineapple Dam and Main Dam of Shing Mun Reservoir from 29 September to 1 October 2023 during the period between 1700 hours and 0300 hours of the following day. Due to slope maintenance works, part of the Shing Mun Barbecue Area Site No. 9 as shown in red on the map is temporarily closed from 4 September 2023 until further notice. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Due to reconstruction works, a part of the Shing Mun Forest Track – Tai Shing Stream Section as shown on the map is temporarily closed to all vehicles from 14 August 2023 until further notice. Hikers will not be affected. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Due to damage, the wooden roof of rain shelter (PFL/SH/002) in Pok Fu Lam Picnic Site No. 2 had been removed and will be repaired for the safety of visitors. Please use the nearby shelters in Pok Fu Lam Picnic Site 1 and 3 (around 8 minutes of walk and 5 minutes of walk respectively). Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Due to potential risk of landslide, the footpath from Shap Long Campsite to Shap Long Chung Hau as shown on the map is temporarily closed from 10 March 2023 until further notice. Sorry for any inconvenience caused. Visitors may choose alternative hiking trail.

Shek Lei Pui Reservoir Barbecue Area Site No. 2 is under enhancement works, based on safety reasons, the site is temporarily closed starting from 3-11-2022 until further notice. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Farmland rehabilitation within private lots in Yi O Kau Tsuen and Yi O San Tsuen is in progress, the land owners do not allow unauthorized access to those villages. The affected sections of Lantau Trail Section 7 passing through those villages will be diverted. Visitors who wish to come and go to Fan Lau, Kau Ling Chung or Tai O are advised to choose alternative routes as shown on the maps at scene.
