Country Parks Facilities - What's New

Country Park visitor/Education Centres (except for some indoor facilities of Lions Nature Education Centre in Sai Kung) are reopened.  When entering the above facilities, visitors should observe infection control measures including using the "LeaveHomeSafe" mobile app, showing “Vaccine Pass” QR codes, wearing their own masks, undergoing temperature checks, and cleaning their hands with hand sanitiser.

Meanwhile, the country park school and public education programmes will remain suspended and all country park barbecue sites and campsites will continue to be closed until further notice.  Please refer to the AFCD's website (www.afcd.gov.hk) for the opening hours of Country Park Visitor / Education Centres.

 The AFCD reminds country park visitors to maintain personal and environmental hygiene and social distancing. Visitors should properly dispose of used masks and waste and take their litter home.

Due to reconstruction works, a part of the Shing Mun Forest Track – Tai Shing Stream Section as shown on the map will be temporarily closed to all vehicles starting from 31 January 2022 to 25 July 2022 (except Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays). Hikers will not be affected. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Due to potential risk of landslide, part of Fung Hang Family Walk in Plover Cove Country Park (in blue on the map) is now temporarily closed until further notice.

Fisheries Hall located at Lions Nature Education Centre, Sai Kung will be temporarily closed for renovation works from 1 January 2022 until further notice. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

From 7:00am to 7:00pm on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays for the period between 4.12.2021 and 16.1.2022, the Transport Department will implement special traffic arrangements on the section of Tai Tong Shan Road between the Pavilion and Tai Tong Shan Road Car Park.

Actual implementation of road closure, traffic diversion and traffic control measures will be made by Police officers on site at the time depending on the traffic and crowd situation. The above-mentioned measures may affect people going to Tai Lam Country Park. Members of the public are advised to use public transport and watch out to the latest traffic and transport information announced by the Transport Department and the Police.

The Shing Mun Picnic Site No. 2 is temporarily closed from 22 November 2021 until further notice due to the maintenance work of pavilion. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

The trees in Arboretum have been infected by Brown Root Rot Disease. To prevent the spread of the disease, AFCD is carrying out reinstatement works. To ensure public safety, part of the arboretum is closed until further notice. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Due to the slope stabilization works, part of Chuen Lung Forest Track in Tai Mo Shan Country Park (in red on the map) is temporarily closed from 4 May 2021 until further notice.  Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

The pavilion at Tin Fu Tsai North Mountain Bike Trail Training Ground will be temporarily closed due to the maintenance works. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

The public toilet at Tai Long Sai Wan beach will be temporarily closed for maintenance until further notice. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Due to potential risk of landslide, a part of Wilson Trail (Section 4) at Tung Yeung Shan (in blue on the map) has been diverted. Please follow the waymarks on site and take the diverted route (in red on the map). Sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Affected by nearby excavation activities, a section of Tai Lam Chung  Country Trail near Tai Lam Tunnel Toll Plaza requires temporary  diversion. The entrance/exit of the affected section of trail has also  been changed. Hikers please use the entrance/exit closer to the Toll  Plaza Flyover for entering/leaving the subject Country Trail. Sorry for  any inconvenience caused.

Weathering and erosion are found on the rocks at a section of footpath between Sam A Tsuen and Sam A Chung. Please be careful when passing through the footpath on the rocks.

Farmland rehabilitation within private lots in Yi O Kau Tsuen and Yi O San Tsuen is in progress, the land owners do not allow unauthorized access to those villages. The affected sections of Lantau Trail Section 7 passing through those villages will be diverted. Visitors who wish to come and go to Fan Lau, Kau Ling Chung or Tai O are advised to choose alternative routes as shown on the maps at scene.
